FROM THE INTRODUCTION:
Dense is the veil of illusion which drapes the formless Spirit. He who lifts even a fringe of the veil is blessed forever, for then the call of the Divine is faintly heard. As if coming from afar, the voice whispers words of wisdom to the sleeping soul of a man, till finally, the soul awakens from its ageless slumber to become a dawning sun of Spirit shedding a light of love upon all things.
Even as a boy playing along the banks of the River Ganga, Ramsuratkumar caught ear of that alluring voice within the silence of his heart. Before his twentieth year the voice grew to have the strength of a command and it moved him to challenge the varied forces of the veil of illusion. With courage he fought in darkness and he fought in dazzling light and of the darkness, ‘he destroyed the illusive forms which shrouded the face of Reality, and of the light, he built within himself the temple of the indwelling god', that vehicle of the higher consciousness, the subtle form of the soul. In his middle age, having exactly thirty-four years, there came the shattering of even that final form, so rare, so beautiful, and of such a, stable nature. Then he did know the ageless wisdom of the formless Spirit, and he did truly dwell in the sun which shines beyond the illusive forms hanging as the cosmic veil before Reality.
I extend forth this writing as a theosophical rendering of the evolutionary out-flowering of a spiritual Adept. It conveys the adventure of consciousness whichmade Yogi Ramsuratkumar a theoretician of evolution and a practitioner of evolution, a seer of the wisdom and a giver of the wisdom. Based on a brief sketch of his life, it is a study of the development and birth of a Godchild. I have recounted the basic movement of his soul as it mounted the shoulders of Matter to stand in that lofty abode wherein the unity of all things was known to be a truth in consciousness, and wherein he experienced the full knowledge of all that life in material form could give and all that conscious existence could confer. I have traced his steps upon the Lighted Way of purification and discipleship-where by a process of reorientation he reached the point when both the light and the path entered the father's House ' as Christ symbolically called it. Then he became the light and the path for Truth was known.
He saw. He knew. He participated in the great Plan. He related himself to the Divine Purpose, and he made the Purpose his as far as he could grasp it. Then the light which he had generated within himself and was learning rapidly to use as an instrumental force revealed to him the higher Way of the Higher Evolution. The mutations and transformations which he subsequently passed through led him step by step into the life of service. The spiritual illumination, was, in effect, the creation of one of those transcendental Lights which acts like a search-light piercing the great ocean of consciousness, illuminating the way for humanity and revealing to men the path which they can and must travel.
